Packing List Template
A free printable packing list: six categories with checkboxes, a before-you-leave checklist and space for notes. Write in exactly what this trip needs, then tick it off as it goes in the bag.
Free · no sign-up · PDF works for printing and in PDF note apps such as Goodnotes and Notability. Made for this site.
About this template
At the top you fill in the destination and dates. Six boxes follow, each with six checkbox lines: Documents & money, Clothes, Toiletries, Electronics, Health & medicine and Other. Below them, Before leaving has nine checkbox lines for the jobs at home, and Notes has lines for anything else — flight times, the weather, what to buy there. No items are pre-printed, so the list fits a weekend city break as well as two weeks at the beach.
How to use it
- Documents & money first: passport or ID, tickets, insurance card, cards and some cash.
- Plan clothes by day and activity, not by “just in case”.
- Use Before leaving for the home jobs: take out the trash, water the plants, unplug devices, set an out-of-office reply.
- Keep the filled-in list for the return trip — tick items again as you pack to come home.
- Plan the days themselves on the travel itinerary template.

Frequently asked questions
What should be on a packing list?
Start with documents and money, medicine, phone and chargers. Then add clothes for each day and the toiletries you use daily — the six boxes on the page follow that order.
Is there a version with items already filled in?
No — the lines are blank on purpose, so you only write what this trip needs. The tips on this page give a starting list.
Is it free?
Yes. Download and print it, or fill it in online with Apple Pencil, without signing up.
